The million dollar question....
Do I really need 5mm thick aluminium supports for my aeroscreen or will 3mm or 4mm do. (I could understand it for a full screen)
Trying to bend the 5mm stuff accurately is proving to be a complete pain in the a$*e. Tried heating it, using former, beating the s&*t out of it
with a large hammer. Even tried the little at a time approach in the vise..........

I made some aeroscreen supports from 1.2mm ali as a temporary measure after having to bend tigers supports for my full screen (which I still couldnt
get right). The 1.2 works well for the aeroscreen, but I am going to get some new aeroscreen and full screen supports made from 3mm ali, which should
be better to bend and look ok too. If you are pre SVA though i think you need 5mm ali to get the required radius (could be wrong)? I SVA'd with
no screen to avoid the hassle.

GMTBH,
I would have thought you'd be ok with thinner stuff for a short aeroscreen.
James
thanks, bought some 3mm ali today going to have a go at making some supports this weekend.
as far as needing 5mm ali to get the required radius for SVA surely if a dzuz fastener or the edge of a windscreen wiper arm can pass the 3mm supports
suitably radiused should be OK ?
Don't have a copy of the SVA manual but isn't there something about the height from the bodywork where radii are concerned. I'd be
surprised if thin supports were acceptable.

I have decided to not fit the aeroscreen for the SVA then use the 3mm supports I am making. This way everyone's happy, the supports look good and
the screen stays where it should (firmly on the car).

GMTBH,
Any pictures? Areoscreen is my next job.
Cheers
