Bonded on with silicon, with one bolt on each wing. How difficult is it to remove a carbon wing from a stay? I will need to bend the stay again for a
different diameter wheel.
Need to go larger diameter wheels for road clearance (have 15" wheels). 13" just don't leave enough room to do speed bumps and our crap
surfaces without risk of major damage.
Why not just raise the ride height?
Pu is very strong.
Take the bolts out and use a very thin wire (cheese wire) to slice between wing and stay.
As for re bending the stays then I wouldnt do that ! These things crack in half for fun.
I am swaping wheels and have bought new arches and will make new wing stays aswell.
Mine arnt carbon

I also recommend cheery red. It really makes them happy....
The wire that the likes of Autoglass use for removing windscreens is
perfect for this task.
sounds exceedingly dangerous. how would I change the ride height? New dampers/springs again?
all suggestions are welcome though! thanks!

Your wings are the bit you need to save with out damage (carbon £££). I would remake the stays. I am re making my stays this week end. Ive found new
wings for £15.
new steel, same again.
If you up the profile of the tyres you will need to do the stays anyway.
I doubt there will be the travell in the shocks to adjust the height you want.
I am changing to 15's for the higher speed rating for iva. Dia is the same but they are 1/2" wider.
Windscreen removing wire works
Sounds too risky for me. How much are new stays for MX5 hubs do you think? Might be easier to go to a machine shop locally and have them reproduce them there.
