Hi all, what size pop rivets to use for attaching parts to the chassis ie p clips, floor panels etc, also where's the best place to buy them from? I will be investing in a air rivet gun to make life a little eaiser.

Stainless sealed blind rivits if you can pay the money.
Ali will do but the corrosion can be a problem later on

Get a range of 3 4 5 mm
Four does most and use a 4.2 drill buy them in a ten pack from a industrial supplier like Cromwell rather than B&Q half odds chocolate tools

If you already have good quality imperial drills note that 3.2 and 4.8mm are closer than accidental to 1/8" and 3/16"

If you really want "the best" then you might try "Cherrymax" rivets. These are aircraft grade but do not require any special tooling. They are a locking rivet and are far less prone to coming loose. You have to be very careful to get the right grip length. 5-2 (5/33" and 4-2 (1/8" are very useful gripping 2-3mm. You can always find them on e-bay at around £10 for 100 - the part number will tell you the material but I think that aluminium with a Stainless (Cres) stem is best unless you are really worried about strength.

You will always need to debur holes if you do not want the rivets to come loose.

I have in excess of 4000 rivets in my build!
