Hi

I've decided to spray one of my old bluebirds in camouflage, I'm totally bored with the factory silver as half the cars on the road seem to be the same colour and have always like camo, I often even wear one of the jackets

Did do one of my previous Landy's in a camo but it was a very simple patten and I want to do a much more complex one this time, maybe in arctic or desert patterns, I think forrest green like my jacket maybe a bit asking for trouble on country roads...

Looked at vinyl wraps, that would cost 3 times the price I paid for the car! LOL

Anyone know of a good supplier of suitable paint? I have a small air compressor and a touch up spray gun which is much smaller than a normal gun I think should have about the same spray pattern as a can so that might work.

Got any tips or have you done this before?

Get some Krylon and just go for it, airsoft have some left and it's brilliant stuff.

i have 3 PDFs describing how to paint military vehicles - PM if you are interested and want to be a proper rivet counting trainspotting dweeb ..... but rule of thumb is to break up the outline and 1/3 of the area is black, the remainder green. deesert and nordic (white) camo may be different.

Anchor Supplies and MVS in Alresbury (sp?) sell matt green and matt black - cheapest and will post. Note that the black is not really matt so I mixed mine with Wickes balckboard paint.

If you google then you will get ideas for paint schemes e.g. German urban camo - design for street threatre
