half doors for locost?
alfas - 17/5/14 at 09:03 AM

can anybody tell me where i can buy half doors which would fit locost (ron champion)

i got a pair of fibreglass aerodynamix doors from a mate...they are far too short.

due to my rollcage it would be also better to have them made in flexible material, like a hood.

so i came to this shop:

http://www.softbitsshop.co.uk/

as they dont have a category named "locost" is there any other type seven with the same dimensions?

MK probably. From the top of the back panel to the top of the scuttle is 100cm, the flat section from the wheel arch to the bottom of the scuttle is 62cm.
I should say that they are showing out of stock, so you may have to wait some weeks for them.

I've just bought a pair if Westfield full doors for my MK, they are 100cm long so should fit fine. Will let you know then you can look for a pair of Westfield half doors

I'd be interested to see if they fit, I know that Caterham are much smaller

Yes the Caterham are about 150mm too short. I've got them already on the car - I was going to use them as the basis of a template make some carbon fibre doors because the driving experience is so much nicer with them on its unbelievable. Now I've found the Westfield doors, there's not a lot of point.
I've already tried the Westfield doors on my car and they seem to be the correct length - be careful, there are two types of Westfield doors and it's not the old style.

I'll update in a week or so when they turn up and I've had a chance to fit them (or not)

please read my opening posting completely:

i had a pair of westfield half doors at my garage...and they had been way too short (approx. 100-150mm)

those are the measurements of the wessie doors (fabricated by aerodynamix):

Soft bits for sevens are quite helpful and could probably knock something up if you can either take the car round or send them a template.

I have the tonneau and half doors from them on my westfield and the quality is good (in fact my car is the orange westfield on their web shop).

i´m outside UK...so a bit complicated.

anyway...i already sent softbits an email, asking if they can provide a sketch or form where i can fill in some necessary data´s for fabricating such doors...lets see what they will reply.
