Paint removal

My mate has just got an old Dutton and it's been painted (a few times) over a coloured gel coat. What's the best, and easiest, way to remove the paint and preserve the gel-coat?

I have had fibreglass bodies bead blasted with mixed results but am afraid the gelcoat will be unsavageable cause it will have been keyed for the paint to stick my best method would be to take as much paint off with a da sander and repaint again

3m roloc bristle discs are good for paint removal , not cheap though as they are a proper trade system you may. need to buy a tool for as well

You could always let my Mrs drive it. She seems very effective at removing paint from cars.......

You're not wrong...mine is an expert at adding damage and stripping paint. Luckily front and rear bumpers seem to be plastic now so the damage doesn't need attention straight away, but irritating all the same
