When I bought my car it came an ali scuttle which has wood in the back. Is this needed?

Commonly known as a dashboard?

AT THE BACK!!

The engine end of the scuttle, but inside.

I'll have the wood for the llama cremation.

Whoever built it must have thought it was necessary, perhaps used as a former to retain the shape whilst the scuttle was skinned

Talking of skinned, why waste a dead llama?

I'll get the next one delivered to you. Home or work sir?

Okay, so it's ok to remove it.

The wood would (!) be extra support if you were going to attach anything to the
engine side of the scuttle; i.e. fuseboxes or other electrical bits.

its fine to remove it
i think wood is sugested as a former in rons book but you must have something between the engine bay and the cockpit
fiberglass or ally normally

If you look at the pictures of preparing a locost for racing in the Champion book, they have the scuttle sitting on two parallel round steel tubes that are welded to the chassis, but this mod is not mentioned in the text.
So, you may want to take the wood off and replace it with two steel tubes that look like mini-roll bars.
