Bonnet scoop to clear V8 SU carbs

Hi,
I know there are a few threads regarding bonnect scoops but none of them answer my specific question.

Has anyone out there found a bonnet scoop/bulge which is big enough to clear the SU carburettors on the Rover V8 engine?

The top of my dashpots stick through by about 4 inches so I need something like 4.25 - 4.5" of extra clearance. Also, I need enough width in the scoop for stretch across both carbs and allow space for the air filters. I'll measure this tonight but it's around 450mm at a guess. The length of the scoop isn't so critical but I want it to be as subtle as a 4.5" scoop can be so ideally it will need to be 500mm+ long with a nice even slope.

Final point - should I make the open end of the scoop face forwards or backwards? Convention seems to be to face the scoop forwards but the nose of the Seven has a big enough scoop as it is and maybe I'm better having the scoop as an outlet for excess air gathered by the nosecone? It's also more elegant and might reduce drag a bit.

Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Craig.

Well spotted matey!
It's one of the nicest examples of a bonnet scoop I've yet seen and even if I don't get this one it will give me some styling ideas for one of my own. My chassis is a McSorley 7+4 so I'm not sure how this compares with the westfield.

This one is certainly a lot less vulgar than the usual Subaru Impreza scoops which seem to popular these days...

Cheers,
Craig.
