Someone gave me a boat this past weekend so I went to my local boating supply store to pick up some items.
I was surprized at the variety of items there that could be adapted to a locost.
Here are a few I really liked:
Louvers, (many different types all stainless steel) Cheap...$14
Gas tanks, (large plastic and metal tanks with gauges mounted right on the tank!) about $35-50
Stainless screws and Hardware, (sold individually or by box)
Lights, many different vareities from the standard auto parts stores, chrome and all the like....Relatively inexpensive.
Heres some other stuff I saw too:
Fiberglass stuff, carbon fibre stuff, seating, trailer cycle wings, matting for floorboards...etc
I will definitely be heading back there for some supplies.
Has anyone ever used an outboard motor for a locost?
Maybe this should be in the donor section but I really liked the louvers and I figured someone would look here for that.

I've heard that some BEC Seven's use an anchor and a few hundred feet of chain for a very effective reversing solution.
It also works better than the Maclaren air brake!!!

You leave the anchor at one end of the quarter mile and hope you have enough chain.
Far more effective than a parachute.
ive used a boat fuel tank! its now been replaced with a viper tank due to a lack of a suitable vent or return in the plastic tank. Now it gets used as
a 23 litre jerry can 
I'll have to look out for my local boat store, might have to have a look next time im near the coast though as i dont think there are many round
here.
Sounds like they might be cheaper than your average locost shop.
I get a lot of little fixtures and fittings from my local yacht chandlers - lately I bought some stainless jubilee clips 'cos the ones I bought
at a show kept falling apart. The yacht ones are twice as wide and very robust, and the price was much the same.
