Guys,
I have tomorrow off work
to make a start on the final fitting of my bodywork.
Where can I get some PU adhesive off the shelf?
I've tried Homebase, B&Q, Halfrauds etc, but they all only stock Silicone sealant type products.
Alternatively (and I know this has been discussed before) is there anything wrong with using Silicone sealant?
Cheers
Nick
Machine mart do a pu sealant but it's white in colour.
It's PU you need, ring nfauto - http://www.nfauto.co.uk and get them to send you a coupld of tubes, should arrive tommorrow.
Alternatively you could go to your local bodyshop and ask if they have any you could buy.
Silicone sealent is not the same.
Rich.
Cheers guys
I've just found a local travelling sales guy who can supply Wurth PU adhesive. He can even deliver it today.
Cheers

Looks good Ray,
I just placed my order!
PS - travelling Wurth guy turned out to be a woman
but she couldn't deliver today
and the price was nearly £8 a tube as well

from experience, texflex is £8 a tube, and it is every bit as good as sika.
the lolocost dunlop stuff i got for £5 a tube is utter shite. i'd have been seriously peed off if it'd been all i had for the whole build.
luckily, i saved it for doing sva trim bits.
price most definitely dictates quality in this case, or should that be the reputation of the supplier? hmmmmmmmm
anyway, i've heard good stuff about the wurth, but would look forward to comments about this stuff.
tom
You can get it from motor factors mate. I know partco defintley do it.
Ive had bad experience with Sikaflex. I used it during Mk1 Golf rebuild to hold arch spats and rear number plate on. I lost the plate and 2 spats
(surfaces were keyed, correctly prepped etc etc).
So far the Wurth stuff (bond and seal) looks far superior. i get mine from Mac 1 when iam passing their workshop.
