I've started to polish my exhaust system Its a stainless, Tiger one. I bought it from Shades last week. Has anyone got any advice that might help
me achieve a good finish ?
Oh, and how do you guys fix the primary pipes onto the collector ? Are they welded or made to be removable ? I know its a dumb arse question, but it
does help to plan things in advance !

I dont bother as its all gone blue for the first foot and the rest has gone a lovely golden colour.
If you want it to look shiney and silver all the time, you may have to get it chromed as chrome doesn't discolour from heat. (well not at exhaust
temps anyway)
Use Solvol Autosol - it prevents (not stops) St.St exhausts from bluing. The straw colour will not last long before it goes dark brown and looks badly
corroded. Depends where you get your pipes from - some high quality stuff is very resiliant to strawing/browning.
Collectors - some are welded in. Some are on sliders and sealed with hemetite (?) exhaust sealer.
I bought my pinto pipes from tiger.Bought a kit to polish and looked fantastic.Ran engine for five minutes and all the headers are now straw colour.I think it will drive me mad if i have to keep polishing so probably just keep them clean shiny straw
