I fitted one of my harnesses last night and looking at the triangle piece that bolts to the chassis, it doesn't seem to be radiused at 2.5mm. Do I need to trim the edges for SVA?

I took some small-diameter PVC tube (about 5mm o.d.), slit it along one side and pushed it over the edge of the bracket. The free ends were tucked under the belt and the whole thing secured with some strong button thread.

It look neat and 'permanent', but I can't take any pictures to show you what I mean as strangely it fell off shortly after the SVA test...

I just put some of the same herringbone u-trim I used for the fibreglass seat edges on them and it was fine.

Aren't harnesses e-marked?

If so does that not deem them as OK?

They need to be protected for SVA

The markings just mean that they comply with the strength standards or summat not that they will pass an SVA test from a 2.5mm radius point of view

I just did it as 'over-kill' - to reduce the chances of the SVA man finding anything.

The e-mark relates to strength, buckles, etc. The safety of the fixing bracket edges is dependent upon where they are fastened - whether they can be got by the tester's sphere or not. On my car, they can be got by the sphere.
