I am both patching holes and making new ones in my bonnet and want to leave it unpainted.
I am wondring if I can get a nice even finish to hide any scrathes by sand blasting the surface? Anyone tried this?
If not, I give it a go on a small piece this weekend.
Sandblasting will probably warp it.
Sand blasting alloy will leave a finish like the surface of the moon, and forget being able to polish it. It will hold dirt very easily if you left
the sand blasted finish.
You could just try reasonably fine wet and dry (used wet) to blend in any imperfections and polish it out afterwards.
Doubt it. Get it all together and smoothed out then spray it with aluminium paint.
I blasted a couple of aluminium bicycle frames recently, ready for powder coating. I think the blasting could be said to have given a very good
key.
