yeat another bonnet question.

when engine is up to temp idling (rad fan turns on for second time) the area above the exhasut gets hot enough so I can just about keep my hand there - I'd like to think that when driving the air flow will cool it significantly but if not, should I be thinking about some stick on insulation/refector stuff in there?

I put exhaust wrap on my manifold which helped a bit.
