Further to givemethebighammer's thread ("I was an autosol convert until............. " ) what are people's opinions re preventing salt marks/corrosion on ali panels? Without giving them a coat of lacquer that is.

Are standard wax polishes up to the job or are there special products any one can recommend?

The meguiars seems to be providing a good protection at the moment. I think you would have trouble getting lacquer to stick properly to aluminium if paint is anything to go by.

OT - I always wondered what happened to Todd Carty after he lelft Eastenders - obviously changed his surname, for one!
