Painting Inside GRP Panels
benson68 - 23/5/06 at 08:53 PM

Hi

Just got all my panels from GTS

I'd like to paint the inside of the panels just to keep everything tidy

Does anyone know the best paint to use or am I just being to fussy

Thanks

Bah replied once - double posted, so I deleted 1, it deleted both!

Anyway - no not fussy at all.

I'm doing the same thing - just roughen the surface slightly so the paint can key to it and then use normal spray can paint - it might not last long underneath mudguards etc.

I'm primarily doing the backs of my seat

I used this stuff under the wings then spray painted black on to that.

The wunderseal stops stones cracking the fibreglass from underneath

I needed to paint the back of my MAC#1 Worx seats.

Tried smooth hammerite, which gave crap coverage and no depth, so I then tried Halfords own brand, excellent coverage and finish and hasn't come off yet.

I lightly wiped mine over with thinners first, but be careful with this.

I always find it interesting when a supplier has obviously repackaged a product - I wonder what wunderseal was before nfauto put it in their own pots?
