Brasso!
A buffing wheel?
we suggest you use water paper first to get the scratches out then a fine rubbing compound such as sovol autosol
it's a messy buisness say he who polished his entire bonnet!
depending on how fine a finish you want and the starting point, i.e. how deep the scratches then wet'n'dry and polishing compound e.g. t-cut
or sink cleaning cream on a polishing wheel will give a mirror finish.... an it will smell nice too

It's not scratched much at all, just grime from sitting about in the Garage. I expect a green scrubbing cloth and some fairy liquid may be enough to get the grime off then a good polish up after.
Maguires metal polish beats everything else I've tried hands down ,sold at Halfraudsabout £8.00 per tub but well worth it.
belgom alu
the best you can get and if you find better i would like to know
you can get it on ebay
How far back you have to go depends on the state of the aluminium. If it is pitted by corrosion this must be removed using wet and dry silicon carbide
paper. Start with say a 180 grit and then successively finer grades removing the scratches left by the previous paper. After that a polishing compound
such as Solvol Autosol. It is a laborious task some might say character building!
