This has probably been covered before, but what is the best method to polish ali panels?
Every time Joe Public sees the car they leave grubby fingerprints all over it!
Cheers

Is autosol beskikbaar in Suid Afrika?
Geez, my Afrikaans is getting rusty!

What sort of clear laquer did you use? I've been wondering the same, I have used cheap hair spray in the past for some other projects, works
well (suprisingly) but will wash off in the end ..

Hay Ham, really nice looking car you have there. Who/how did you bend the roll bar?

I've just got some Meguiar's "NXT All Metal Polysh". Don't know how good it is yet but the marketing cr*p sounds about right
(then it always does)!
From their website :
"NXT All Metal Polysh
New anti-corrosive technology locks in the shine. NXT All Metal Polysh cleans, polishes and protects all wheels, stainless steel exhausts, chrome air
intakes and valve covers, aluminium, brass, copper, silver and all other bright-work components. Meguiar’s Microscopic Diminishing Abrasive Technology
(MDAT) removes built-up oxidation, tarnishing and staining faster and safer than traditional/harsh abrasives.

Certainly sounds like male bovine droppings...
Howzit Fred, thanks for that.
I had the roll bar bent by Maxe in Pinetown they charged me the grand sum of.......R 120, I welded in the cross bar and base flanges, then had the
whole lot powder coated.
Cheers
laquer was some ready mixed cellulose based stuff used for doing metallic paint. I diluted it a bit more..... seems to be effective but time will
tell how well.
Thanks 02GF74,
Not sure if that will stick in the long run, time will tell. Ali without some kind of etch primer is always a problem, but you never know... I guess
there most be a laquer that will definatly stick to ali??

i used autosol a few times on ma indy , but it takes forever , but while cleaning my car this weekend , waxing and polishing so forth , i tried t-cut and they came up lovely.
Hi,I've tried Belgum alloy polish which seems pretty good but I went over it with Autoglym resin polish which seems to help.
If I didn't want keep it more traditional looking I would paint it because its bloody hard to get a good shine.
