Bonnet catches and Nose Cone
The Doc - 28/7/06 at 08:35 AM

Hi Folks,
Two things:
Can anyone tell me the best type and supplier of SVA friendly bonnet catches? Also - how many fixings are people using on the nose cone, and where placed?

The best type in my view is the Aerocatch

Over Centre Bonnet Catches

Nose cone is hinged on bottom rail and using 2 bolts into riv nuts on the top rail

At the top of the nosecone I used 1 bolt either side fixing to brackets welded to the top chassis rails. Then used 3 bolts screwed into rivnuts at the lower front edge.

I used over centre rubber catches from Car Builders Solutions to secure the bonnet.

Are we generally OK with just the two fasteners and the lower front contained by the support piece.

Darren - are your bolts hidden by the bonnet and is the n/cone reinforced or just straight through the GRP?

Just as a matter of interest why not the DZeus jobbies that uncle Ron suggests. Is it cost or just that you don't trust them?

Thanks folks

Mike
