i was just filing my grp and have put a massive scratch across the bonnet, is there a way of reparing the damage or not?
regards matt
wet and dry working through the grades has been know to be very effective
never scratched mine badly enough to worry or need to do it so cant help on the practical, only the theory
If you've gone right through the gel coat you will need to get some of the correct colour gel and wax from your manufacturer to make a repair
(google "flowcoat" ).
If you haven't you can work your way through fine wet and dry papers to fix most of the damage.
Worse case is needing to fill it and paint the car
You can actualy use ordinary gel coat, ( of the correct colour), as long as you put something over it to exclude air. If you can get some there is a product called Peal Ply that is ideal. Regards Ray.
Belive it or not i was fitting some parts today and scratched a area i used AUTOSOL metal polish the scratch came out a treat this was quite deep
aswell.
Not saying it will work on yours but worth a try good luck.
