Hi all
Just finished my new car, my question is what is the best polish to keep the side panels and all interior panels all nice and shiney, on my old
locost I used autosol but that is very abrasive.
thanks in advance

Autosol alloy wheel cleaner.
Less abrasive than autosol.
Personally I'd use autosol to shine it then use Rustins Clear Metal Lacquer to keep it looking nice and shiny....
then again, I'm going to leave mine for a while to get some patina
Maguires all metal polysh. Halfords sell it. Rather good stuff, worth a try.
Thanks very much!

i remember ages ago on here hearing about something called "mothers .....". it was supposed to be excellent.
Hi gazzap ask marc barlow
.
cheers matt
U2U TrevD. His car is all ali. Rusty nuts had some good stuff cant remember what it was. Maguires i think.
Yep - Maguires - I bought a pot after a demonstration by Rusty Nuts. It seems expensive, but it goes a long way as you don't use a lot.
It's biggest advantage is that it's easy to wipe off once it's done its job - sometimes you can spend hours trying to get other stuff
off.

Maguires seems to leave a protective coating on the polyshed surface as well so for me it lasted quite a while.
Note i use the term 'Polyshed' as the its obviously american and they cant spell!!!
always had good results with Belgom Alu
Perhaps I should be on commission? Tried most but found Maguires or Meguires to beat everything else
Alu magic if you want to improve the shine. If the ally is good then Mothers is very good. Ps the alu magic gives 3 months protection. ATB Trev.
I never really got on with Alu magic. I personally though it was pants! Perhaps the grade of ali makes a difference?
IMHO Autosol if the car has been neglected for as bit (like I do! ). Finish or polish with Alu Belgom, polished off with a yellow duster dipped in
flour.
I have got a cupboard full of polishes, looking for the easy shine. Basically, there isnt one...
Probably be easier if I did it more often, but
it's more fun driving...
Nice to see all u "new age guys" chatting about cleaning...............
I find a g/f produces the best shine.....
baby oil we use it at work for stainless and ali makes it look loverly.
warning though if the missus opens the garage door to see you on one of your extended stays working on "the car" and you have a bottle of
baby oil in one hand and a rag in the other, you will get a beating i think
or.... you might get lucky.
i use mothers mag &aluminium polish excellent stuff anda lot easier than autosol
