Fuel Tank Opinions

Got a fuel tank at the weekend but as you can see here it over hangs the rear a bit. I could move it up and over the axle but it'd leave me with not much boot space at at, and it a centre fill. What do people reckon? Flog it back on Ebay or make it fit as above?

All i can advise is that it will add a little more danger of fuel going everywhere in the case of a rear end shunt, and it may make the car fractionally more unstable with the weight of the sloshing fuel further back.

If you do decide to get rid, i would be very very interested (depending on dimensions and price etc...).

Edited to say, it would be for a completely different project.

can you turn it round??

i would cut the excess of and turn it round.. with a small alloy plated welded in its place you easyly fill up the hole..

sow your filler will be closer to the back fo the car..

Tks

Could you turn it round and mount it above the diff? Does the diff stay still in a dedion chassis? If you could get it above the diff, and keep the filler level with the back bar behind the seats, you'd end up with a very deep boot right at the back of the car?

Building: a collection of the wrong parts!

Thats what that looks like to me

Chop it about, move it or sell it, do not use it !

I'd sell it and have a chat with deneo he can make whatever you like, (see my archive) and reasonably priced too. Having bought a few things in the past to and have to make them "fit" its just not worth the hassle.
Just my thoughts though.
