We are building an MK Indy. The side panels are now on the exterior, along with the ali panels on the interior. The two pieces do not "butt
up" nicely, so what we are looking for is some trim to cover them up.
Woolies (part 777) is the kind of thing we would like, but it is too narrow and too rigid.
How have other people covered the edge running along the side of the car from the dashboard, past your elbow, up to the top of the roll cage?
Thanks in advance!
Mark
some of the Aluminium sections in B&Q look good.
woolies do rubber 'c' shaped trim - would that fit?
The B and Q warehouses (the larger stores) have a good selection of steel and alu sections.

Guys,
Thanks for the ideas....
but...
I've been to a couple of B&Q w/house places - The strips either seem to be a very hard 90 degree bend - which would do the job, but would Mr
SVA man like it (sharp edge etc)
The one they have with a curved outer edge had a load of ridges on that would rub your elbow to shreads.
Rubber 'C' trim - could be, but I has hoping for something chrome/ali/silvery
Any other suggestions?
wear long sleeves!!

how about trying a local engineering fab shop and asking them to fold up some steel or alu into channel for you.....

There is a company that makes horse boxs's all sorts of diff extrusions the 2 types i ordered where type c8 and c5, c8 looks great on the door
strip on a indy there web site is.. http://www.eahorsebox.co.uk/pages/mailordercd.html
hope that is of help
i got some D section plastic from a double glazing installer, covered in gaffa tape and screwed to your arm rest
I used hard wood 90 deg moulding, comes with nice smooth edges. Covered in the same vinyl as the dash and looks just fine. Takes 10 mins each side to make so when it gets a bit scruffy from getting in and out chuck it away and make a new one, easy.
Cheers Guys - Plenty of new ideas to go on. I have spoken to the horsebox people - They were v.friendly and are sending a sample. I'll keep you
posted.
Thanks again
Mark
