Has anyone ever had problems securing plastic panels to powder coated chassis, I recently glued the inner plastic panels as supplied by MK and found that after 5 days the panel was lifting from the chassis. The Sikoflex 260 had stuck like S**T to a blanket on the chassis but no adhesion to the plastic...

did you key it?

i used tigerseal and rivets to fix mine on.

Agreed, there might be mould release or some kind of dressing on the plastic. Also did you clamp it up tight until the PU had gone off?

Ive always used Tigerseal, and it seems to stick well between what ever 2 materials i have used. i have used rivets + tigerseal along the top, and bottom rail, and just tigerseal along the triangulation, and its all stuck solid

Maybe you need to clamp it for a week, like you are supposed to do with metal on metal.

Just prepare the two surfaces to be joined by cleaning with methylated spirits or similar. If you also key the surfaces to be joined, you'll get better adhesion.
