My car is Kawaski green but for some reason the paint likes to come away from the under coat don;t know why. so the paint is comming off and the under coat.
So, do i re-paint the car or just polish the ali back up? and would it show any little marks from when it was keyed for the primer?

Re-paint it! polished cars look good but kawasaki green suits the loud shouty nature of these cars! guess what colour mine is.....haha

mine too Well some of it anyway lol

will prob have the sanding marks from keying alright be a big pain to get it back to shiny.

is the paint lifting off the metal? If so did you etch primer it first?

yep - you need a special primer for aluminium - acid etch primer.

The primer is still in tact just certain parts of the top coat, only noticed when taking some masking tape off.
I think i will take it back to bare ali and start again cos i love the colour and don;t fancy an invisible car when the sun is low, look what happend to James Dean!

the paint come off when you pulled the masking tape off?

what did you paint it with? cans or 2pack?

It was a paint which was suitable for spraying or hand paint, it was applied with a roller following others who had went down the same road, it's a good finish with no marks etc.

oh dear. is that stuff really any good?

Id sand it all back to the primer and 2pack its ass.
