I'm struggling with the concept of attaching the silencer to the chassis.
I have made a bracket that bolts to the chassis and gives me a platform for a flexible rubber mounting.
But... how do I attach the silencer to this mounting? I have a silencer from MNR with a 90° bend at the end that tightens up with an exhaust clamp.
How do I get the connection from here to the mounting on the chassis, or do I mount it rigid, a strap round the can maybe??
Can I see some pictures of SVA friendly applications please?
Thanks,
Steve
a strap made from a strip of stainless, tightened by a bolt is the normal route.
motor bikes have fancy ones you could use
I made a strap from a piece of ali to go round the silencer.
There is a pic in my archive [exhaustcloseup.jpg]. It passed the SVA, but I've since modified it so the bobbin is vertical with the exhaust strap
sitting on top of it.

The strap is the obvious way of doing it but my can is so heavy I'm looking to get a bracket tigged onto it for a better solution.
Welding a bracket on would be the obvious BUT, I don't have a clue who could do it round here....
Find a food factory and tap-up an engineer. That's what I've done!
