Modifying locost bodywork to fit W***field?
Oliver Jetson - 26/10/03 at 07:07 PM

Can this be done so as to fit a W***field SE. Reason being I don't want to pay the extortionate prices for new bodywork!

Cheers

You could possibly adapt if you wanted too. IIRC the Westy chassis is a couple of inches narrower than a 'standard' Locost chassis (if there is such a thing!) so a bit of adapting will be necessary, if you are looking at buying a complete body kit. However, you could panel it externally with ali, (you may have to make a simple frame at the back to form the back panel) and just buy nosecone/arches/scuttle.

Is the Westy body in poor condition, or damaged?

Its a rolling chassis with no bodywork, and i don't want to buy new bodywork from westfield @ £1000!!!

Fair comment mate. But actually buying the genuine bodywork will add more than that to the price if you were ever to sell it....

Cheers, Stu.
