How does fibreglass get on if stored in a damp area?

My missus is no longer agreeable with the indy body panels being stored in the hallway and my only real alternative is the cellar.

I have a nice big plastic table I can put it all on to keep it away from the walls and floor and it's not too damp but it is still a cellar.

So.....if they're down there for a month or so are they likely to warp/delaminate or do any other such thing that will make them erm, knackered??

Only real alternative?? There's always divorce - but that might be much more expensive than new body panels - at least in the short term!!

Maybe you're right!!!

Anyway, damp wont make them warp but the position you store them in might, especially if its warm down there - so keep the bonnet stood up on its end so it cant sag in the middle etc

^^ Ok the other alternative is I could put her in the cellar Austrian style and then do what the hell I want upstairs.

Won't do a GRP moulding any harm ---- while it is true exposed raw glass fibres do actually corrode the process is very very slow and once encased in the polyester resin they protected and the corrosion almost completely stops.

Some GRP boats are still around after more than half a century.

Yeah I kind of figured it would be ok seeing as how it copes with rain etc I just wasn't so sure when it's un-supported ie. not on the chassis.

Are they a perfect fit anyhow?! You'll be fine. In the dark is much better than in the sun, but either way, a month will do bugger all.
