Side Panels
Hornet - 14/12/03 at 07:22 PM

I am looking at starting my side panels in ali, I am not sure if i should panel right up to nose cone or somewhere in the region of FU1 and 2.
Anyone got any help /pics? to help me decide. Cheers

i was wondering this myself, cos as far as i can tell the top and bottom tubes arent parallel towards the front, at least they arent on mine. So how would a sheet sit on it flat?

im thinking of doing the cockpit sides and then just bending something onto the front as best i can.

I finished mine at the fu bit where the wishbone bracket fastens on. We*tfields are like that. I helped panel a locost to the front and it was awkward cutting out for the steering rack etc. I fastened my panels on to the sides of the tubes as well, as I was not bothered about the rivets showing. You don't really notice it until you study closely but it makes the car look narrower.

yours, Pete.

I'm gonna panel up to the wishbones... wont bother to go round them/past back mount. Improves air in too apparently ?!?!?
