any one here refurbed alloys there self if so how please as wanna keep it locost as the mrs is going mad about the amount of cash im spending
i was planning on refurbing a set of mine was thinking about filling any curbed pits with that epoxy resin stuff as smooth as poss then sand it all down till smooth then just spray them thats what i was thinking but havent done them yet would love to hear other peoples ideas though
Easy. Clean off flaking paint with a wire brush. Smooth down with sand paper. Primer. Paint. Laquer. Job done.
It's not difficult to get good results, but it can be time consuming. Usually takes me a whole day to do four.
Dont you need some kind of etching primer on alloy to make itstick properly.
I remember reading a story a while ago some guy painted the aluminium sides on his tigercat and the paint peeled off nearly in one big piece.

cheers might have to give it a go
I did first set myself. had problems cleaning old finish off with nitromorse, it was like a plastic coating. Ended up getting a mate to blast them. After spending ages smoothing them down, then etch primer, high build primer and top coats with prep in between i concluded it was a right pain and not really cheap to do. Had some BMW wheels done professionally and they were so much better for £40 a wheel.
