from gelcoat? How do I safely remove some light overspray spots from my gelcoat body?
Not knowing anything about gelcoat I want to know what to use without resorting to the angle grinder

Oh, BTW I'm going to atempt a shine with 'Autoglym Super resin Polish' is that ok as well??

*Never polished a car in my life before

I find a little autosol and a yellow duster does the job nicely. A quick polish and voila.
Only trouble is it shines up the gelcoat that much it makes the rest of the car look dull in comparison
Wipe it off with thinners on a rag. Autoglym is good stuff and puts a really nice shine on easily.
now, I DON'T KNOW FOR SURE, but gelcoat isn't affected by thinners is it? test on a hidden bit first
or some sort of t-cut type stuff maybe?
I often use cheap cellulose thinners for cleaning fibreglass - it works well on the inside too (for that `just built` look
)
I have removed Fordson Orange from mine useing thiners.
Then FARECLA G3 COMPOUND ( hard work by hand ! )
then finish with Farecla G10 and a good coat of autoglym super resin

Standard cellulose thinners on a rag then a quick polish other than that t cut or farecla
