Hi,
I'm considering making an aluminium bonnet for my car. Caterham has the front and rear edge folded, and that makes it look very neat (and gets
rid of the sharp edge as well). Also, when they have a hole in that bonnet for the airfilter to stick out, it has a folded edge.
How can I do that myself?!?!
I didn't bother, just glued some edge trim onto the bonnet, you don't notice the black lines it forms across the car.
ATB Dan.
I also glued on some edging - I just call it 'trim line'! I don't think it looks at all bad, and is a whole lot easier than folding over each edge neatly, especially where the sides have to be folded.
If you really want to do it, I'd pop down my local college and ask them if you can put it in their folder...
I glued on trim as well, I think if you did a tight fold like that in Ali it'd probably split.
Cheers,
Bob
We also glued on some trim. Superglue if I remember correctly, it's still on 4 years later
