Is there a recommended clearance between cycle gaurds and 205/60 tyres. I'm abut to fit some. Suggestions would be welcome.

Sean,

I'll be laminating my c/guards to the bracketry, and have designed them for about 1/2" clearance.

If you're using bolts, you may need to increase that a little.

I'd therefore say 1/2 to 2" is in the ball park

The shape of the sides of c/guards will also dictate how near or far you mount them.

Hi Chaps

Havn't got to this stage yet but I'v got a bike with a f/glass hugger fitted, about 10mm clearance. If I ride it on a newly stoned road it sounds like a machine gun going off up your arrrrr so I'll fit mine with 20mm of clearance.

If you fit them too close it's a pig to get the wheel off so don't get too carried away.

Thanks guys. that's a help. I will be using similar bracketry to that suggested in R Champions book, so will need the slightly greater clearance as suggested I suppose.
