Off topic but you guys seem to be pretty clued up on SVA/MOT requirements due to the nature of building a locost.
I'm thinking of replacing the tail light on my motorcycle with one having a clear lens and integrated indicators. It's all controlled by an
array of LEDs. Brake/parking lights work the same but when indicators are on they overide the brake lights on the left or right as required. Would
this pass an MOT or would it be deemed illegal?
I would say they are legal as long as you still have a braking light (either one or two).
One the new Transit they have sidelights which are over-run by indicators... so it's kinda like bright/dip/bright/dip if you get my drift.
Easiest way - is to see if they say "Not for road use" that's what it means.
Otherwise you can assume otherwise.
BMW Mini indicators and sidelights are in the same refector housing - and they are ok.
