According to the BBC, Ford have just bought the name to bury it, they don't want the Rover name to "affect" their Land Rover branding....
Bloody shame, because Rover needed was a company that could keep it afloat and share some good platforms with it - the Fors chassis with a bit of
British styling (worked for Jag!).
It's a sad fact that this deal means we'll never see a new Rover on the roads again.
I was under the impression it didnt work for Jaguar, ie all the rumers a couple of months ago that JCB were gonna buy jag because ford wants to get rid with jag being somewhat of a money sink.
