Heated front screen? or hairdryer?

For the SVA i need something to demist my fron screen, But don't want the normal water from engine .. etc... does anyone know where to get an heated front screen from? or i've been told to use a 12v Hairdryer.. has anyone done this? does it work? Is it's a good idear?

Ive seen electric demister fans somewhere,think it was on a caravan web site.

Andy,
Electric heaters? check out page 33 of this months kit car magazine for a pic and information, if you ain't got it then they cost £22 measures 7"x 3", remote switch and 168 watt heating element. Also has a swivel base and can be mounted under the dash. Mail order from Car Builder Solutions,

12v camping hairdryer. £9 from my local c*ravan place. Even cheaper

Or, if you're rich, Caterham sell heated screens forabout £140 for the glass.

We used a hairdryer too- its pretty crap, but seeing as the cabin isn't enclosed its pretty unlikely to mist up anyway! Passed SVA no worries.
Came from Midland Chandlers, £10.20 inc. postage etc.
