DIY Aeroscreen

Being a complete tight git, I fancy making my own aeroscreen type thingy. I have a fair bit of chopped strand and resing left so I thought I'd get some gelcoat and have a bash at making one.

Any advice, tips etc?

Presumably its just a matter of making a wooden frame, fixing a thin ply veneer to it, loads of filler, loads of release agent and a big hammer?
