airbox painting or wrap?

I have made an air box from plastic(pvc) for my carbs. I am not going to carbon fibre wrap it because of dis-colouring so opting for spraying it black,

I have scuffed the surface.

Will high temp alloy wheel/brake caliper VHT spray paint be allright?

I still have a can of primer grey and matt black left over

Put it this way - if you need VHT paint to withstand the temperatures, then the PVC will be long gone! If it's hot enough to damage paint then the PVC has no chance.

The 'glass transition temperature' (where the plastic loses structural strength) of PVC is 81C, according to a quick google search.

+1...
if worried, BBQ paint will do the job...
Although overkill.
I reckon 3M Carbon fiber vinyl would withstand the heat too...

Beware of what you wish.. for it may come true....

I wanted to 3m carbon vinyl but the box isn't square. Worried it won't wrap around the curves without folding/creasing at one end.

Under bonnet summer temperatures in traffic exceeded 100 degrees. Never had a problem with the paint, the carbs didn't like it much though
