Clear over Base spraying
Hi all
I've bought some colour base coat with a 1K clear coat, I got all the info on mixing etc, but I'm a bit unsure how to spray it. Are there
any good web sites that show the best technique. All i can find on google is celly

What do you need to know?, mix the basecoat 2:1 with MS thinners, allow to flash off and cover with the clear (1 light plus 2 full coats)
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

Hi Mark
I wasn't sure if you had to rub down between coats, or how long you have to wait between coats
The chap at the paint shop was really helpfull but they were busy, and i've forgot half he said

Definately DON'T rub down between coats. Apply the basecoat with 2 medium coats (3 if silver or a pale colour) followed by a drop coat (gun at
about 600mm away from the job to accentuate the metallic elements - if metallic!).
There is a critical recoat time, too soon and the paint will pickle up, and too late and the clear will peel later. Usually this is about 15-40 mins,
but check with the paint suppliers as manufacturers vary.
