roof on mid engine style cars

hi,
Im hoping to buy a completed kit car sometime soon. Something along the lines of an MK GT1 or similar style. My question is would it be realistically possible to fabricate a roof for one of these? My initial idea was something like a clam shell over the cockpit made out of clear plastic that could be raised. Has anyone managed to build a roof of any type onto these style of cars? even better are there any affordable kits around similar to this that have a roof of some kind?

Also what other kits simililar to the GT1 in style and price shoulkd i look out for?

cheers

the AGM WLR car uses an MK indy chassis with enclosed bodywork and a roof as an option.

Same dimention though yes? i was told that they do a 'kit' so you can put the body on an Indy. Not sure if this is 100% correct.
