panel help

hi all. I tried sticking my transmission tunnel panels back on with kitchen silicone, which didnt work at all. So im guessing i need to rivet it. Machine mart isnt open today, does anyone have any good ideas on where to buy a riveter today, or on alternative ways of securing the panels? Cheers

Maybe some sticky stuff from b&q or something?

polyurethane adhesive like sikaflex, texflex et al will do it much better than silicone, though you'll probably need to clean the silicone residue off first.

halfords do do a hand riveter, but it's not up to much. come with a few rivets though.

Hi Joel, You're welcome to borrow my air-riveter if you like.
I could drop it off this afternoon if ya want. I'm always looking for somewhere to go for a Sun aft blast

I'd be tempted to use self tap screws on the tops, they are not structural and its always handy to be able to take them off in the future.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

lol, i ended up in halfords anyway and found one, shame really as i wanted an air one and they didnt have any. Still, sorts me out for today

Cheers for the offer Tony, feel free to pop past anyway if you want a blast out!

The panels in three pieces, so i may well rivet front and back and screw the middle for access.
