Yellow - to match the other yellow bits of bodywork.
Semi-matt black - pretend vinyl boot cover
Something else - tell me!

Boot colour?

OK - I've nearly finished making a boot lid for my car, and now I need to work out its colour.

Shiny aluminium isn't an option as my metal bashing isn't good enough.

Any opinions?

David

Just to be different, go for the aluminium anyway, either a thin skin glued on, or a thicker structural bit.

Metal bashing takes practice like anything else, so it might take a couple of attempts to get a finish you're happy with, but then at least you will have gained another skill which is half the fun.

It's been enough of a pain getting as far as I have!

I've made the pieces with the clear intention of painting - minor dents filled with filler, etc.

I find metal bashing is very frustrating and annoying (and I usually end up with lacerated fingers) and I just want to get the job done. Some jobs I enjoy a lot, others I merely don't mind and some I hate - and making sheet metal behave is definately in the last category!
