Clearance between top of tire and rear wing.
I am just about to build up a mold if not for better words for my rear wings. How much clearance for the top of the tire to the wing is normal. I
would think that about 3 inches should be close as the minimum amount before the tire can hit anything -or the bump stop-
Also when a tire spins (excessivly) like when watching a dragster take off the tire grows a fair bit. I am assuming that it grows to the center and
the sidewalls have to stay the same so it should not make that much of a difference.
Its a road car with live axle.
Thanks

Easiest way to make sure. Remove the springs from your suspension units, refit bare units, and allow the car to settle onto the bump stops. Allow say
25mm on top of that, and you will be OK. Very unlikely that you will ever hit the bump stops, but the unlikely sometimes happens. HTH Ray

Dale,
Have you got unequal length w/bones on you car. If so, keep the tyre slightly inside the arch at rest, and it will automated increase camber and come
inside arch more with tighter arc scribed by (upper) wishbone.
I've never managed to spot an expanding tyre. Not unless it's got about 5psi in it, and doing 300mph
Are mine close enough for you

You want 1" between the tire and anything else when on the bump stops. This goes for the sides too. This is assuming you are running a
reasonable sidewall.
Cheers.
