Cellulose Paint Suppliers…where have they all gone?!
Hi Guys,
Unbelievably busy right now, so much for my holiday (I think I'll fall asleep at work tomorrow ) hopefully one of you can help here. I’m
after about 4 litres of Ford Rosso Red cellulose spray paint and I’m having real difficulty tracking some down, apparently everyone’s using that evil
2-pack stuff but as I don’t have a NASA spacesuit I ain’t gona use that. Enamels are out the window cos I need this done & dry now and acrylic
will react to the previous paint, damn sod the environment I need this motor painted!
Does anyone know of a supplier preferably in sunny Aberdeen (no really it’s beaming down ) or at a push one that’s one the net that can deliver
pronto???
Cheers, Mr stressed Whippy…

As from jan this year our beloved EU have made solvent based paints illegal, only held stocks can be sold, we are to go waterbased only, ironocally
water based paints are 'base and clear' the only fly in their perfect plan is that there is not a water based clear laquer thats any good,
so we have to use solvent based. Doh. Commercial cellulose will still be available, work that out.

Halfords are still saying they will mix cellulose to match your sample. They say they have never heard of the Brussels bullshit (ban, sorry)

Just use a standard (polyester) basecoat with a 1K clear, better that celly and easier to use and commonly available.
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

Barcoat barrier primer is the best thing to use if you are having to use different paint on top of another. This is alcohol based so have lots of
meths handy to clean the gun and pot otherwise it will be knackered! I have found nothing that will dissolve this once it has set off

Paint
I have used this company. Good advice and a good colour matcher at the store in Dudley West Mids. Looks like you can order online.
