cutting a 6 mm slot in aluminium strip

want to make a curround from some screenlets so this will be a lenth of alumimuium 350 mm longwith a 6 mm wide slot through whcih the screenlets fit.

so question is, what is the easiestquickets way to cut the slot?

not decided on thickness but strip will be somewhere between 1 and 2 mm thick.

current thinking is using power drill nibbler.

(alternative that does not require cutting is to use two parallel strips and some joining cover on the ends.)

added.

it is mpre cosmetic thant structural - to be slappend opn top of some sealant with a some bolts to hold it in place (compound curve) - does not necessarily need to be aluminum - could be flexible plastic perhaps?

My air nibbler cuts a 6mm slot. Getting the cut started would be a pain, but the rest of the slot would be fairly easy to do.

Tool cost about £20 on eskip

If you end up using a grinder and v thin blade, chuck some tallow on - for the smell really

Alternatively, I bought a small (fits in drill) nibbler that's very neat.
