'Smoothing' Rough GRP

I have a fair bit of unfinished GRP visible on the car (on the inside). It's pretty rough and not pretty. What's the best solution for 'flattening / smoothing' it prior to paint?

Cheers

You could try roughing it with a bit of 40 or so grit paper, then "painting" some resin on top.

Try a small area first and see how it works.

A couple of layer of fibreglass tissue will take the worst of the roughness off

paint it with resin A then put surfacing tissues on it. It will float to the top of the resin before it cures taking away the fibrous finish of CSM. Good laminators do this anyway. You can then paint on a thick coat of resin B or gel coat. You have to sand it back if you want it level as it doesn't self level. It has to be a thick coat though as thin layers don't stick well to each other.

If you're going to paint gelcoat on, ensure you get some additive so it sets.
