DIY Doors and Hoods
After much searching on here and whist waiting for the DVLA to get my reg number to me I have decided to make a set of doors for book chasis
locost.
I started with a frame I made for the doors from 3 mm thick 20 mm wide steel strip shaped to fit the scuttle etc. When frame was made I covered in
black and clear vinyl. The other probelm was how to get a cover sorted using hood sticks. I have worked out how to get the height to clear our roll
bar and still be short of the rear panel so they will not hit the spare wheel carrier. So far I have used 20 mm conduit and a 16 mm bolt that pivots
on brackets bolted to the chassis and the ability to shorten and lenghten the hood sticks and hold in position with 'R' clips.
Have a look at last 10 pictures on my archieve. Sorry about the size of them better with a welder and cannot get resizer to work at present. What do
you think, will it work when covered with vinyl ?

Nice one
Maybe I should switch tack and do it properly...
