tinted windows

I don't want to turn my car into a drug dealer mobile but I am wondering how they tint the rear quarter lights that look like they're glued onto the car. Do they remove the glass, clean off the glue then apply the tinting film and glue back in? Do they do it a different way?

if you go to a decent place they should be able to cut the film to shape and fit it to the window with it still in place.

i think how you say. they have to heat it as well, so it bonds to the glass

Bonded-in windows have a black border to hide the glue , the tinting film is carefully cut to fit just over that and `fitted` with the window in place .

local firm came out to me last week and did my front side windows, he took the glass out and did a fantastic job.
Was first class work.

Ive heard the Police or similar have been having a clamp down on tinted windows. I seem to recall there is a test they do to confirm the tint isnt too dark. Might be worth a reasearch before getting it done. most reputable firms will no doubt be able to advise.

You can tint rear windows, but side windows (driver and passenger doors) and the windscreen can't be tinted by law.
