Bonnet Height

Lookin for help chaps....
I have bought my nosecone, bonnet and scuttle together and have run into difficulties, from the attached photo you can see I do not have the height required for my engine (xflow).
I am thinking the only option i have is to increase the chassis by 1" but I'd prefer not to. Does the SVA man allow an air pan to stick through the bonnet?

Cheers

Just cut a hole in the bonnet and fit a foam pipercross or similiar type airfilter. I think all cars with a downdraught carb need to be done this way, i have a 1600 crossflow and chopped the sump and fitted as low as possible but the carb protrudes a little from the bonnet.

No problem, as long as:

1. There are no sharp edges (all radii greater than the SVA minimum)

2. It isn't in your line of sight (i.e. you can still see where you're going!).

More detail in the manual, of course...

rgds,

David
(who's filter will be sticking out of the bonnet an inch or so).

I have seen plenty of westfields (Sorry! Shouldn't have said that name!) with this done as quite a lot of them have pintos.

ITG do foam filters for the 32/36 weber that are SVA friendly, foam edged filters.

Cheers
