Ali mesh in nose cone

I want to fit some ali mesh in the nose. (and have been advised to do so by Mr SVA as things inside the nose do not have the right radius.)
But will the standard ali mesh from ebay or Halfords get me through SVA or will that fail due to sharp edges too.

Anyone used the above for SVA?
Or does anyone have a source of SVA friendly mesh?

I used some stuff from B+Q and it worked for me. Sprayed it with some acid etch and some plasticote. Actually- I lie, I think I used plasticote red oxide primer before I realised it was just brown paint!!!!

Don't use anything that will restrict the airflow too much - I did originally, and used to have overheating problems in traffic. Seven's need all the help that they can get to get air to the radiator!

Halfords sell woven stainless mesh for the boy racers - it looks ideal for our purposes. Would look good too...

I used the simple wire grill that came with the kit, SVA cant get the dome in and it does not restrict the airflow, you can put any grill you like on and experiment at lesure after SVA

Why? I'm not doubting that they might but it's suprising considering the gaping wide nosecone.....

You'd be amazed what difference the size of the gaps in the mesh makes actually. The larger of the ones that CBS sell works well - but the smaller stuff led to overheating in a friends 6.

Yep - removing the mesh grill from Bitsablade made 10 degrees difference on the track.

Pat...
